We Aren't "DIY Dental" - smilogy Is Different

At-home smile straightening kits can get a bad rep, but smilogy is different.

At-home smile straightening kits can get a bad rep, but smilogy is different.

Do-it-yourself (DIY) clear aligner kids offer limited support and they’re not recommended.

Here’s how smilogy is different, merging the expertise of our Australian dental professionals with the convenience of some elements of at-home treatment.

Why Is “DIY Dental” Not Recommended?

There are a lot of companies offering people the opportunity to straighten their smiles at home. They vary greatly, but many of them simply aren’t recommended by the powers that be at the Australian Dental Association.

This is because your treatment is often handled by people overseas that you never actually meet. Due to this limited support, there are several opportunities for things to go wrong, which can be expensive and painful to fix.

There’s No Messy At-Home Moulding Kits

Accurate impressions are so important for clear aligners. If we don’t know what we’re working with, we can’t properly help you.

Some companies expect you to create a mould of your own teeth at home, which isn’t as easy as it sounds. With respect, you probably don’t know what you’re doing!

When you’re investing in your smile, the accuracy of the initial impression taken is absolutely critical for eventual smile success.

Our 100% accurate 3D scans allow us to take the perfect impression of your mouth. Our Australian dentists and orthodontists then examine these scans and mould aligners which will fit correctly.

We’re With You Every Step Of The Way

Our team consists of dedicated and experienced Australian dentists and orthodontists. All of our operations are conducted locally, with scanning locations across Australia and a team who understand our local customers. You don’t always find this with “DIY” dental options, and you have the added benefit of fast replacements if you lose a set of aligners, since they don’t have to be shipped from overseas.

Throughout your clear aligners journey, you will be fully supervised by our Australian dentists and orthodontists on a regular basis. They have over 80 years of experience and are fully board registered and accredited, complying with all regulations.

There’s no need to come in for time-consuming visits. In fact, you can check in with us online. This way we can keep an eye on your progress and ensure everything is running smoothly.

Plus, if you’re based in Sydney, you have peace of mind that we have a clinic for additional appointments in-person.

We’re As Transparent As Our Clear Aligners

We are always open and honest, we tell you if this isn’t the treatment for you. Your treatment plan is entirely custom, and as a result, we’ll make sure it’s exactly the right fit.

Clear aligners are best for people with mild to medium cases of crooked teeth or other kinds of misalignment. This means it might not be right for everyone, but since our Australian dentists and orthodontists design your treatment plan, you’ll know they’ve checked your scans over.

Here’s How Clear Aligners Work

Clear aligners can sound too good to be true - we get it. Once you’ve had your scan and been approved for the procedure, we work out how many sets of clear aligners you’ll need.

Each set is put in your mouth for 7-14 days, depending on your plan. Over 6-18 months, they will slowly and gently move your teeth to the best position over time.

We always help you understand the treatment and the risks.
