Do Clear Aligners Work? See For Yourself!

Let us walk you through how clear aligners work to get the job done!

Call us jaded, but we don’t believe in miracles. So we get it - it’s okay if you’re sceptical, too. However, unlike many things that seem too good to be true, clear aligners actually work (and we can prove it).

If you have mild or moderately crooked teeth or you’re otherwise in need of straightening your smile, clear aligners may be the right choice for you as opposed to braces. However, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to our smiles, which means they won’t work for everyone.

Let smilogy walk you through what clear aligners do to get the job right!

The Science

After an initial scan to take the perfect impression of your teeth, you’ll be sent various sets of clear aligners. The amount you get will depend on the current condition of your smile.

Each aligner is slightly different to the one before it - it’s one step closer to that end position. The aligners gradually adjust your teeth so that they reach the final position eventually.

The aligners are replaced roughly every 7-14 days. You’ll repeat this process for around 6-18 months (occasionally more or less), and your individual treatment plan is decided by your orthodontist or dentist.

Over the course of treatment, each new set of aligners may feel tight for a couple of days. This just shows that they’re moving your teeth and doing their job properly.

Throughout your journey, aligners work around your lifestyle. They’re convenient, removable, and almost invisible.

Smile Straightening With smilogy

Your journey starts with a quick and easy 3D scan at a convenient scanning location near you. These scans are 100% accurate, so our Australian orthodontists and dentists know what they’re working with.

They carefully examine your scan to find the best way to straighten your smile, then send out the correct number of aligners so that your teeth can start doing their thing and slowly moving.

Throughout the process, you check in with them remotely - it’s so simple, as it’s all done online!
